5.0-magnitude quake hits 13 km NNW of As Salamiyah, Syria: USGS

NEW YORK, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) — An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted 13 km NNW of As Salamiyah, Syria, at 20:56:00 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 35.13 degrees north latitude and 37.01 degrees east longitude. ■
